At Valea Verde, we welcome our guests with a recognized and award-winning slow-living concept that everyone should try at least once in their lives.
You will find the Valea Verde retreat in a small village in the heart of Transylvania, Cund, Mures County. Based on the “Albergo Diffuso” concept, Valea Verde has all the houses scattered around the village of Cund. The restaurant, the Valea Verde garden, and the natural lake are located a few hundred meters from each of them.
For a holiday at Valea Verde, you can choose between a reserved room in one of our cottages or even a holiday home that you can rent in its entirety. All our cottages are surrounded by a garden (some very generous), and the rooms are furnished with wooden furniture made or restored in our carpentry workshop, comfortable armchairs, and premium “Marriott” bed linen and sleeping mattresses enjoy lots of peace.

While we have focused on preserving the authentic rural charm of the village, we have created a comfortable and warm setting in which to offer our guests memorable curated experiences.
Our family has spent many years renovating the most beautiful homes that Transylvania had to offer.
Those who wish to experience rural life will be enchanted by our double rooms or renovated village houses (located about 300-400 m away from the Valea Verde Restaurant).
The holiday homes you can book in full are designed to accommodate small groups of four to eight people. All have been equipped with a kitchen, fireplace, garden, and terrace. Often you’ll even find books or board games.

The Bierzahn House is an old Saxon house in the center of the village of Cund consisting of a living area and two bedrooms. The house has the old barn converted into a small terrace and, like the other houses, a generous garden.
Samways House is the right choice for larger families, with a house that sleeps 9. The house consists of 2 rooms with double beds, 2 rooms with 2 single beds (bunk beds), and 1 guest bed on request. And here you will find a nice big yard, especially on snowy days.
Johann House is the ideal option for families with children who prefer to reserve an individual house, just for them. A place with a yard where children can play freely, a house with a bedroom, and a living room with generous spaces. In addition, in the Johann House, you will also find a covered terrace that can be heated with wood.
In the process of infusing tradition with a contemporary spirit, what guided us were preserving local accents (stoves, handmade wooden furniture), reintegrating old values into modern living, and manifesting our passion for detail.
There is also the option of booking one of the four comfortable apartments in the main building next to the Valea Verde Restaurant, each with a separate entrance and a spacious terrace. Or a room in one of the houses in the village:
- Cal House (Valea Verde’s latest project, a charming house with four chic rooms, a generous courtyard, and a terraced area among the vine bushes, perfect for couples’ getaways and disconnecting from the urban jungle).
- Yard House (These apartments are in a lovely courtyard, located on the main road next to the horse stables).
- Cund House (These apartments are great for couples or families with one child. The distance to the restaurant is about 350 m.)
- Reussdorfer Hoff (“Reussdorfer Hoff” is the largest house in Cund, restored to meet the needs of families or groups of friends traveling together).

Tucked away in an apple orchard on the edge of the forest, the Valea Verde Observatory is perfect for a romantic brunch or an evening dinner in total silence. On warm days we organise picnics in the heart of the forest or brunches in the clearing. These experiences are preferred by couples who want to enjoy the gourmet menus served by Valea Verde restaurant in a special setting in nature.
At Valea Verde we have created a gentle and friendly tourism concept that invites you to relax and reconnect with nature. Walks through the village of Cund, wine tasting sessions, yoga programs, brunches served in the Observatory in the middle of the forest, workshops with traditional craftsmen such as weavers, blacksmiths and carpenters, truffle hunting are some of the activities we propose for a relaxing stay in the heart of Transylvania.
