Bran Castle is without any doubt one of the most valuable medieval architectural monuments of Romania. It was built in 1382 by the inhabitants of Brasov in an impressive location on a high rock.
At the beginning of the 19th century, Bram Stoker wrote a terrifying story about Count Dracula – a fictional character associated with Romanian aristocrat Vlad Tepes “The Impaler”. While the novel is a work of fiction, it is great fun to explore the place that has inspired it!
